Will google ban articles, duplicate cont

Hey!
Does anybody know if google will exclude you for posting duplicate content if you put an article on your site and also submit it to the ezine directories?

Why does google not ban the sites that then re use the articles?

If anybody has an answer to these questions I would be very grateful as this has been on my mind for a while and I dont want google to ban me for duplicate content.

thanks

Google does not ban sites with duplicate content. In the past, pages with duplicate content were relegated to the "supplemental index", which doesn't exist any more (per Google). I believe now, the page that is indexed first or has more PR, etc, will show up in the SERPs in a high position, while the pages considered "duplicate content" will be pushed down very low in the SERPs.

If you are going to send articles to ezine directories, I would rewrite them significantly for each ezine directory (do not just change a few words or sentences. Change the titles too) AND not list them on your site (so you don't risk being listed as place with duplicate content).
